The Galeries

When The Galeries asked me to shoot my creative space, they figured I may as well seal the deal by coming down and shooting some street style too. Home to a number of amazing stores (including the best book store in the city, Kinokuniya) I convinced some of the staff to come outside and jump around a bit. Literally.

Kristy

Kristy is interning for Romance was Born. How incredible is her bright orange jacket? From Zara of all places! To be honest I’m actually amazed that I haven’t seen more girls wearing Zara around. Even though Zara has been open for a couple of months, the store is still constantly packed and new stock is always being pumped through. I’ve actually avoided buying anything (except for those ubiquitous black cut-out heels) because I’ve been put off by the idea of seeing it everywhere. But somehow, that hasn’t happened…

Where & What

Based on the concept of their current exhibition ‘Where&What’, The Galeries asked me to photograph inside my creative space. Although nowhere near as dreamy as some of the places featured in the exhibition, I did have a lot of fun shooting my creative lair. Particularly because we only moved in a few weeks ago, and this is the result of many days of unpacking, sorting and decorating.

Satisfy your voyeuristic tendencies (if you live in Sydney) and check out the very cool ‘Where&What‘ exhibition. Documenting the art of creating art, it takes you inside some pretty incredible creatives spaces one can only wish were their own. ‘Where&What’ is currently running at The Galeries until Friday 12th August. Get there. Because really, who doesn’t love stealing a glance into the lives of others?

MJ

Fresh-faced model Melissa Johanssen (aka MJ) looking sweet as ever in the perfect loose braid. Originally hailing from Alice Springs, she’s moved quickly since being picked up by Finesse Models late last year. MJ is now also signed with agencies in Sydney and New York, and has appeared on numerous international catwalks and the pages of Vogue Australia. Not bad for someone of just 16. And with her soft features and dreamy eyes, I’m picking this Australian model will go far.
