Like most great finds, I was introduced to Amy Kaehne by friends. It’s no secret I have a soft spot for understated pieces and careful tailoring, so it was pretty obvious Amy’s designs were going to be my sort of thing. Her collections are full of delicious wide-spun knits, beautiful shirting and muted colours; basically all things simple and great! Amy is also incredibly sweet (she’s one of those people with soft spoken voices who have only nice things to say), so it was super lovely hanging out with her one afternoon reminiscing about New Zealand (our homeland) and discussing recent triumphs in the kitchen.
Amy’s winter collection has just dropped into stores, and it’s safe to say it’s all I want for the cooler months. More specifically I dream of the salmon two tone sweater (which I didn’t photograph but you can check it out here) and the grey wrap coat which looks as good tied at the waist as it does undone. I never thought I’d be asking for a cold winter, but here’s hoping temperatures get low enough in Sydney to warrant plenty of layering. Chilly enough for chunky knits and over-sized coats, that’s all I ask!
