I’m really digging denim in prints and different washes at the moment, although in saying that isn’t everyone? Isabel Marant does something and the rest will undoubtedly follow! I may even embark on a little DIY experiment with some of my old jeans this weekend. I dipped dyed some boyfriend jeans with bleach and the results were pretty great (although the bleach weakens denim far quicker than you would expect). Anyway, I love Ann’s look; it’s so simple and casual yet still a little unexpected. And her Ellery cat eye sunglasses are the perfect finishing touch, I really need to get my hands on a pair!
Ray Ban Wayfarers, Christopher Esber Vest, Nixon watch, Celine bag, Claude Maus jeans, Dieppa Restrepo loafers.
This grey cashmere vest by Christopher Esber is the perfect layering piece; particularly for lazy Sunday’s like today. I’m obsessed with the subtle details; the double V neckline, the low cut armholes, the side slits and longer hemline at the back. I like my clothes over-sized with plenty of drape; which is exactly what this vest is all about. So easy to throw on over jeans, but also great paired with a leather skirt, letting the back hem fall below the skirt entirely. Such a great shape, I can’t get enough of it!
An outtake from the shoot I did with Talisa in TOME recently. There’s something so sexy about a woman’s bare back. I love how this dress accentuates every curve without being overtly sexual. Plus the loose fit and matte silk gives it a more demure finish. Paired with the right heels and simple jewellery, this dress is perfect for those occasions that require something a little more elegant. Yet it can still be worn during the day with undone hair and classic black loafers, which is perhaps the most sexy of all.
Kate Sylvester always manages to create the kind of clothes that leave me dreaming of a more feminine, romantic way of dressing. In lieu of a Fashion Week presentation, Kate held an intimate showing in Sydney this week for her spring summer collection ‘All my heart’. Inspired by an alternate version of Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre; the collection explores Victorian dressing with a modern, more uplifting twist.
The above shots are some of my favourite pieces from the collection; particularly the floor skimming forest green dress which really has stolen my heart. So many beautifully draped silks, elegantly sexy lingerie, prim lace and sweet suiting; you can see why I want to embrace my inner lady.
