And I love Tiffany’s slightly more rock and roll approach; the blood red lip and ripped skinny jeans add an element of toughness to the look. Today I’m Barcelona bound, which officially marks the start of my Spring break (in the most literal sense of the word). One of the main reasons I moved to the UK was to have the freedom to pick up my bags and travel to some of the incredible spots around Europe which are barely a few hours away. So for now it’s all about tapas, cold beverages and a little beach time.

This may not be the most imaginative combo, but I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that these boyfriend jeans could in-fact be the very best pair around. I’m a big fan of Melbourne based denim brand Nobody, but bias isn’t clouding my judgement. They really are that good. It’s the ultimate shade of blue, stonewashed to perfection, with super relaxed fit that has just the right amount of slouch. Delicious.

The only down side is that this wash isn’t available online. Although I’m sure if you asked the guys at Nobody nicely, they would be more than happy to help you out. Then just add a (slouchy) tee, belt and a simple sandal/loafer/pump and you’re done.

And when selecting a good beanie, it’s all about finding the perfect slouch. Roomy but stays on the head. Falls neatly with just the right amount of excess fabric. Best of all, beanies can be teamed with pretty much anything to add a touch of casual-cool.

Last week I took the plunge and cut a decent few inches off my hair. Change is good, but it does mean I can no longer just sweep my hair to one side or pull it back into a bun. Luckily, a messy bob is pretty simple; just add texture and volume.

Unlike my makeup routine, I don’t really have any loyalty with a particular haircare brand. Part of me believes that old myth that hair can ‘get used’ to a certain product, thus making it less effective over time. Whatever the reason, I do like to mix things up, and right now I’m pretty much using the entire Toni & Guy range. It’s cheap and does the job.

I’m a big fan of Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner – it just keeps the colour in check and prevents things from straying to the yellow side. I use this every wash (2-3 times per week), which means I never need to visit the hairdresser for an all over tone.

Leave in Conditioner just makes good sense for anyone who lightens their hair – it repairs the ends and smooths down frizz. After every wash works a treat for me.

Dry Shampoo is for those in-between moments, creates texture and generally freshens everything up. Never underestimate the power of dry shampoo – it’s pretty great in any given situation.

And lastly, Sea Salt Spray, which I’m all about right now. When my hair was longer I would have used a little shine serum before walking out the door. But now it’s all about roughing it up and keeping the bob from looking too neat. The more you spray, the more texture you get. It’s the ultimate tool for summer beach hair.

The remainder of my outfit from earlier in the week when I gave my hair the chop. I’m not much of an evening dresser – overtly elegant styles don’t really do it for me – but I am a fan of lace (namely in black). So for me the solution is pairing it with patent loafers and an over-sized blazer. The masculine pieces balance out the femininity of the lace top, and the black skinny jeans keep it casual. Too easy.
